About the role

In this role, you will help build the backend of a product that handles large amounts of connected data from many different sources. A big part of the job is to make sure data flows, backend logic, and technical foundations are stable, clear, and easy to keep building on over time.

You will work with backend development, databases, integrations, and product logic. The role is hands-on and gives you the chance to grow quickly in a real product environment where backend quality matters a lot.

You will work closely with Martin, our CTO, and the rest of the tech team, most of which is based in Halmstad. Since the team is still relatively small, you will get broad exposure, short feedback loops, and a good chance to learn by building together with experienced developers.

What you will work on

Your work will include a mix of:

• Building and improving backend logic, APIs, and product functionality
• Working with databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Supporting integrations between ad platforms, analytics tools, e-commerce systems, and financial systems
• Helping improve structure, performance, and maintainability on the backend side of the platform
• Working closely with frontend and product to build features end-to-end
• Using modern AI tools in development to move faster, test ideas, and improve implementation quality

Examples of projects and focus areas

In the first phase, your work may include areas such as:

Backend flows for connected data
Help build and improve the backend logic that pulls together data from multiple sources and makes it usable inside the product.

APIs and product logic for new features
Support the development of backend functionality that powers insights, recommendations, and other product features.

Improving backend quality as the platform grows
Contribute to cleaner structure, better performance, and more maintainable systems as the product becomes more advanced and widely used.

Team and setup

A large part of the tech team is based in Halmstad, and for this role that is the preferred location.

We would like you to work from the Halmstad office around 2–3 days per week. The rest can be flexible depending on what makes sense for you and the team.

This is a strong environment if you enjoy working in a smaller team where decision paths are short, people help each other, and good ideas are taken seriously. You will not be expected to know everything from day one, but your curiosity, learning speed, and willingness to take responsibility will matter a lot.

What we are looking for

Required

• 0–2 years of experience in system development, backend development, or similar hands-on work
• A university education in IT, computer science, software engineering, or a related field — or another background combined with hands-on experience we consider equivalent
• Good foundation in backend development and programming
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Comfortable working with APIs, backend logic, and data flows
• Fluent English, written and spoken

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP / Laravel
• Experience with AWS, cloud environments, or deployment-related work
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, for example Terraform
• Experience with Snowflake or other data warehouse environments
• Experience from marketing platforms, e-commerce, or other data-heavy products
• Good Swedish, written and spoken
